Steve is currently a weekly columnist for MSG.com as well as a writer for the Bergen Record. He joined the Record after seven years at the New York Times. While Steve has maintained a presence with his coverage for the National Basketball Association, he has also covered every other professional team in the area, as well as contributed features on the local college scene. Prior to his days at the Times, Steve spent two seasons covering the New York Knicks for the New York Post.
Steve began his journalism career at the Asbury Park Press on the Jersey Shore as a college intern who worked his way up and became the pro basketball writer. There, he covered the Nets and Knicks, while contributing columns not only for the National Basketball Association, but a variety of different subjects. Steve earned Top 10 Honors in the Game Story category by the Associated Press Sports Editors as well as the Arc of Excellence for media while at the Asbury Park Press for a feature on the Special Olympics. In addition, Steve authored a chapter for the book, "The Perfect Team."
Steve is a graduate of Monmouth University and lives with his wife, Kirsten, and their two children, Zak and Colin, in Freehold, NJ.
