John Giannone
Rangers Host, "MSG, NY" Co-Host

John Giannone

John Gianonne is very active with NY Rangers programming where he currently serves as co-host for “Inside the Rangers”. He is also host of the Rangers pre and post game shows as well as co-host of the Rangers weekly podcast. Additionally, Giannone co-hosts the networks signature sports and entertainment program, “MSG, NY”.

Giannone has been with MSG since 2002 where he first began as the co-anchor of the "MSG SportsDesk" news program after being a field reporter for CNNSI (CNN's 24-hour sports news operation). In addition he also co-hosted the “What’s your Angle” segment during the issue oriented "Angles" program with MSG veteran Al Trautwig.

New York sports fans are quite familiar with Gianonne, for his nine years in the trenches at the New York Post's (1988-94) and Daily News' (1994-97) sports departments where he covered the Islanders, Jets, Giants and Mets for the Post and the Mets, Rangers and Yankees for the News. He had the good fortune of covering the Broadway Blueshirts during their 1994 Stanley Cup run and also the Yankees 1996 World Series championship, which, at the time, was their first in 18 years.

Immediately after leaving college, Gianonne began his career as a researcher and statistician for CBS Sports. At Fordham University, he gleaned his first broadcasting experience with the noted WFUV-FM, where he announced the Rams' college basketball games for the campus radio station.

Gianonne now resides in Central Jersey with his wife Jill and their two children. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, playing the piano, reading, and skiing.
